Ahhh, award season is upon us and I love when it starts with some of the more fun awards ceremonies - where stars are more apt to take some fashion risks. At this year's VMAs, there were three looks that I think were the best out of all, though there were some interesting ones that I think are better left to Perez Hilton to comment on.... As an overall comment though, silver seemed to be very in this season, as well as simple, slicked-back hair.
So here they are, in no particular order:
1. JLo in Charbel Zoe - She can still outdo girls half her age and look twice as good. Do you see her obliques in that dress! I mean damn! Not to mention it looks like it's painted on her.
2. Iggy Azalea in Versace - Now usually I don't particularly like Iggy's style because it's too young and trendy for my taste, but I think she did this right. She knows she has curves and her stylist knocked it out of the park with this dress. It fit her to a T!
3. Rita Ora in Karen Atlier - Same comment as Iggy. She dresses way too young most of the time, but this is a sexy red dress that could arguably go down as a classic...(ok, maybe a sexy classic, but you can't tell me that Marilyn Monroe wouldn't have worn this dress).
I am all about women empowerment - beauty starts on the inside, all of this beauty & fashion stuff is just extra. But I know it gave me the confidence to look at who I was on the inside, and it's not at all superficial to want to look and feel beautiful. Besides who said life had to be so serious all the time? Just remember, beauty doesn't start or stop at the surface. Much love :)

Best Dressed - VMA's 2013
I’m not gonna say anything about the worst-dressed, because
those people are already getting plenty of publicity. Instead, I want to
venture into territory unknown and talk about the positive fashions (go
figure).
First off, this isn’t a usual kind of style for me to pick
as ‘Best-dressed’ because I’m a more glamorous kind of girl, but Ariana Grande
killed it on the red carpet with her high-waisted, floral, short, twirly dress
and white pumps. She looked so innocent and so damn cute, you wouldn’t think
she has pipes like Mariah (I thought the song she has out WAS Mariah). She has
a very petite frame so the long hair added even more length to her look,
although her legs go on for days in that dress.
My runner up for Best-dressed is Selena Gomez (whose style
usually is pretty understated) who had the glamour-punk rock look that made all
eyes pop. To some, she was the worst-dressed, but I think it takes major
cajones to pull off a dress that revealing and cutting-edge. The green drop
earrings also added the right pop of color to the royal blue and black accents
of the dress. Work it gurl!!!!

Golden Globes 2013 Hits and Misses
I know it’s not just me; you watch the award shows for just
the fashions, right? That's my favorite part! Here are my thoughts on the best and worst
dressed. (Overall, I was kinda disappointed in the lack of creativity and
effort that went into this awards’ shows’ looks):
BEST DRESSED (not in any particular order):
1. Heidi Klum in Alexander Vauthier – she does
white like no other and was the only one who was able to pull off the high slit
this go-round.
2. Emily Blunt in Michael Kors – this gold, lace
cut-out dress caught my attention because of the quality construction and shape
of the dress and also of the simplicity yet sexiness of the look.
3. Taylor Swift in Donna Karen Atelier – she looked
phenomenal in this mermaid-shaped gown besides the mishap of being able to see
her side-boob-chicken-cutlets.
4. Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad – this woman gets
it right every time. She just knows how to make a statement and dress for her
body.
5. Amy Adams in Marchesa – this blush-toned dress
flattered her figure in every way and I really love that it almost blended in
with her skin tone to look ethereal, yet sexy.
WORST DRESSED:
1. Anne Hathaway in Chanel – this was just way too safe. Not what I would expect from her after her performance in Les Miserables, but she still looked classy.
2. Lucy Lui in Carolina Herrerra – this would have been a flattering dress aside from the pattern.
3. Jessica Chastain in Calvin Klein – this sea-foam
green dress did nothing to flatter this woman’s terrific figure. The top
portion of the dress not only had no structure, but it looked like it was 3
sizes too big.
