Did you watch the Emmy’s last weekend? Did it seem to you
that a few women looked like they had just come from “Under the Sea” (that
Little Mermaid song keeps playing in my head). Well, it seems that the color
Sea Green, Teal, or whatever you want to call it is making a very big splash
for the upcoming Fall 2012 season, both on the runways and in real life. One
way you can incorporate this color into your wardrobe without breaking the
bank: get a cute $5.95 tank top from
H&M (which is what I did) or even color your nails (Sally Hansen has a
color called Blizzard Blue that will give you the color effect
you need). So, you may not be able to wear a mermaid-inspired dress down a red
carpet (anytime soon at least), but you can add a pop of this color to your
wardrobe (and then give it away at the end of the season when it goes out of
style!). See, you can look good AND do good J
I am all about women empowerment - beauty starts on the inside, all of this beauty & fashion stuff is just extra. But I know it gave me the confidence to look at who I was on the inside, and it's not at all superficial to want to look and feel beautiful. Besides who said life had to be so serious all the time? Just remember, beauty doesn't start or stop at the surface. Much love :)

Holiday Nail Polish - Bargains from Target
The easiest way to get ready for the holidays without breaking the bank, in my opinion, is by spicing up the colors in your nail polish collection. I was in the spending mood at Target one night and drifted into the nail polish section and ended up with these fabulous colors:
1. Brand: Essie, Color: “Trophy Wife” – $8
This color is in between the "turquoise & caicos" color and a brighter green they had available (I don't remember the name). I decided on this one because it is shimmery and just dark enough for the holidays (and I can use it now instead of waiting to use the T&C color for summer). I tried it on my toes so far and love it. It's a mysterious dark turquoise that I can't stop looking at.
2. Brand: Sally Hansen Insta-Dry, Color: “Co-bolt blue” – $4
I got this instead of Essie’s “Aruba Blue” , which they describe as a “frosty sapphire blue” – between the Essie and Sally Hansen, they are the exact same color and SH's is $4 less (hey, 4 bucks is 4 bucks) – already love it on my toes – shimmery, dark but not dark enough where u can’t see the bright blue color – just enough tint for the holidays! It's a bargain buy!
3. Brand: Sally Hansen Crackle coat, Color: “Fractured Foil 03” – $6
I tried this on top of the cobolt blue – love it! The crackle coat is all the rage right now and I see why - it's sooo fun and gives you a little extra something different - almost like an accessory in and of itself.
